ACUTE EXPOSURE INFORMATION
- Butyl acetate has low systemic toxicity. This compound is used as a synthetic-flavoring ingredient in the production of fruit flavorings, as well as in manufactured products (eg, lacquers, nail polish, photographic film). N-butyl acetate is more irritating than sec- or tert-butyl acetate.
- Possible symptoms of overexposure may include mucous membrane irritation, headache, drowsiness, dizziness, ataxia, confusion, delirium, coma, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, cough, and dryness of the eyes, upper respiratory system and skin.
