ACUTE EXPOSURE INFORMATION

  1. Little toxicologic information was found for xylylene dichloride. It is a strong skin, eye, and respiratory irritant and can produce burns. Inhalation of the vapors can cause dizziness and suffocation. From the properties of CNS depressants, it is expected to produce dizziness, lightheadedness, headache, ataxia, nausea, confusion, and possibly coma and death from acute exposure.
  1. ROUTES OF EXPOSURE - Xylylene dichloride may be hazardous by the inhalation or dermal route. It can be moderately toxic by ingestion.
