- WITH POISONING/EXPOSURE
- Ethyl chloride vapors may be irritating to the eyes, skin, and mucous membranes. In animals, ethyl chloride increases myocardial sensitivity to catecholamines.
- The liquid is harmful to the eyes. Because of its low boiling point, its fast evaporation can cause cold injury. It is the least toxic of the chlorinated hydrocarbons.
- When heated to decomposition, hydrogen chloride, phosgene, chlorine, and carbon monoxide gases may be released.
