ACUTE EXPOSURE INFORMATION

  1. Chloromethyl ether is a confirmed human carcinogen, causing lung and possibly laryngeal cancer in chronically exposed workers.
  1. Chronic bronchitis, lung cancer, and perhaps laryngeal cancer are associated with chronic inhalation exposure.
  1. There are no reports of acute systemic poisoning from chloromethyl ether. It is a mucous membrane and strong eye irritant.
