ACUTE EXPOSURE INFORMATION

  1. Indene is irritating to the eyes, skin, and mucous membranes. It is moderately toxic by ingestion, inhalation, and subcutaneous exposure.
  1. Symptoms of exposure may include skin sensitization and dermatitis. In experimental animals, liver damage, renal and splenic injury, elevated blood cholinesterase activity, and inhibition of catalase have been noted. Aspiration may result in chemical pneumonitis, pulmonary edema, and hemorrhage.
