ACUTE EXPOSURE INFORMATION
- All reported cases involve inhalation by workers rather than ingestion.
- Signs following exposure to vapors are irritation of the conjunctiva and mucous membranes, cough with sputum production, dyspnea, retrosternal chest pain, wheezing, dizziness, headache, weakness, anorexia, vomiting, bronchitis, pulmonary edema, nephritis, and a sense of suffocation. Exposure to vapors may cause skin burns.
- Transient elevations of liver function tests and mild, transient albuminuria with minimal microscopic hematuria may follow significant inhalation exposure.
- A chronic asthmatic-like bronchitis may develop after acute inhalation intoxication.
